The American Songbook Reimagined - The Daniel Kelly Quartet featuring Frederick Johnson at Alhambra Theatre, Hopkinsville, KY

Led by award-winning pianist Daniel Kelly, this powerhouse quartet takes audiences on an unforgettable musical journey—infusing beloved jazz and pop classics with thrilling improvisations, emotional depth, and daring creativity. Described as “stunningly original” and “powerfully moving,” their performances are dynamic, heartfelt, and joyfully unpredictable.

With his rich, expressive voice and soulful, magnetic presence, Frederick Johnson has shared the stage with legends such as Chick Corea and Aretha Franklin. His nearly 20-year collaboration with Kelly has forged a rare musical chemistry that electrifies the stage—uplifting audiences nationwide and engaging them on a deeply human level.

Experience bold, reimagined versions of timeless songs like Gershwin’s “Summertime,” Ellington’s “Caravan,” “The Nearness of You,” “Nature Boy,” “What the World Needs Now,” and a jazz-funk twist on The Beatles’ “Come Together.”

Dream Song for Kids! At Howland Cultural Center, Beacon, NY

A DREAM SONG workshop specially created for young people ages 5-18.

Dream Song

Imagine if you could create a soundtrack to your dreams. Want to discover what your dreams are singing to you? Composer and pianist Daniel Kelly joins singer-songwriter Tara O’Grady as a dynamic duo who explore dreams in this interactive improvisational music experience.

Dreams communicate in a symbolic visual language similar to movies in our minds. Songwriters have been translating these scenes from their psyches for ages – Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, and Taylor Swift are just a few musicians who have turned their night visions into gold records. When we learn how to engage with our dreamscape and the wisdom dreams have to offer, we become more aware of our inner world and how we relate to the outer world.

Audiences will be guided to explore their dreams, follow their curiosity, and participate in the creative process of transforming dreams into live music.
